Finance Manager
Location: WR5 (Worcester)
Work Type: Office-Based, Full-Time
Salary: £40,000-£45,000 DOE
Start Date: Immediate/As Soon As Possible
Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with a successful, family-run business?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected machinery retailer with a supportive team culture and a genuine commitment to looking after its people. This is a business where employees stay for years. As the company continues to grow, there is an opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and play a key role in the continued success of the business.
You'll oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function while working closely with senior management and colleagues across the wider business.
This is a varied, hands-on role offering genuine responsibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to develop and improve financial processes as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across the business
- Oversee purchase ledger, sales ledger and general finance activities
- Manage and monitor cashflow, outstanding debt and customer accounts
- Oversee bank, supplier and control account reconciliations
- Manage month-end processes and prepare management accounts and financial reports
- Provide accurate financial information and reporting to senior management
- Monitor business performance, costs and margins and provide financial insight where required
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning
- Act as the key point of contact for external accountants, auditors and professional advisers
- Prepare information for year-end accounts and other financial reporting requirements
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and queries
- Ensure appropriate financial controls and procedures are maintained
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting

About You
We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded finance professional who is comfortable taking ownership and working across a broad range of financial responsibilities.
You'll be organised, proactive and confident working independently, while also being a strong team player who can build positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers, customers and external advisers.
We're looking for:
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar senior finance role
- Strong understanding of financial processes, controls and reporting
- Experience overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
- Experience with month-end processes and management accounts
- Experience working with external accountants or professional advisers
- Experience using finance or ERP systems (such as Sage, Exchequer, SAP, Dynamics, Kerridge or similar)
- Experience using IBCOS Gold would be advantageous, although this is by no means essential
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
