Sowena Group are partnering with a growing and well-established business to assist in the hire of a Finance Manager.

This is a hands-on and commercially focused role, with responsibility for the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, financial reporting, and providing insight into business performance. The role will also take ownership of a number of wider finance processes and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Review P&L performance, balance sheet positions, and key financial variances
  • Provide detailed analysis and commentary on financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Own month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and journal postings
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting
  • Partner with senior operational stakeholders, providing financial insight and challenging performance where appropriate
  • Assist with year-end accounts, audit requirements, and statutory reporting
  • Maintain and improve financial controls and reporting processes
  • Support the wider finance team with ad hoc analysis and commercial projects

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing management accounts
  • Good technical understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and month-end accounting
  • Comfortable analysing financial performance and presenting findings to senior stakeholders
  • Commercially minded with the confidence to challenge and influence
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with finance systems
  • Able to work autonomously and take ownership of key areas of the finance function
