Finance Manager - Technical Accounting

Milton Keynes - 2-3 days in the office
£75,000 - £85,000 + Bonus + Bens

Are you the accountant people turn to when things get technically complicated, but you're equally comfortable explaining the answer to someone outside of Finance?

This newly created role offers the opportunity to become the organisation's technical accounting lead, taking ownership of complex accounting matters while working closely with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders.

You'll be a subject matter expert across technical accounting, financial reporting and accounting judgements, with the visibility and influence to help shape accounting policies, controls and the wider finance function.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Acting as the technical accounting lead across the business, providing guidance on IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Leading the accounting treatment of complex and non-routine transactions
  • Preparing technical accounting papers and supporting significant accounting judgements
  • Developing and maintaining accounting policies and ensuring they remain fit for purpose
  • Assessing the impact of new accounting standards and leading their implementation
  • Supporting statutory accounts and year-end financial reporting
  • Acting as the key technical accounting contact for external auditors
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen financial controls, governance and accounting processes
  • Working closely with Finance, Commercial, Operations, Projects and other non-finance stakeholders on accounting matters and strategic initiatives
  • Translating complex accounting requirements into clear, practical advice for the wider business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
