Partner Financial is partnering with an ambitious, high-growth technology business that is going through an exciting period of international expansion. Operating across multiple markets, the company develops innovative technology solutions that are helping businesses streamline complex processes, improve connectivity, and operate more efficiently. As the finance function evolves alongside the wider business, there is now an opportunity for a Finance Manager to take ownership of key operational finance activities and help establish robust, scalable processes for continued growth.
The Finance Manager will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, supporting the month-end close, treasury, payroll, VAT and financial controls across a growing international group. The role will combine hands-on financial accounting with process improvement, systems development and stakeholder management, while helping to build a strong control environment capable of supporting the company's continued expansion.
Responsibilities
- Managing key elements of the month-end close process, including preparing journals, accruals and prepayments, while completing detailed balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Producing ad-hoc financial analysis, reconciliations and management information to support senior finance stakeholders and the wider FP&A function.
- Supporting the Accounts Payable function with day-to-day queries, escalations and operational requirements, ensuring supplier transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Mentoring and developing the Accounts Payable Lead, providing technical guidance, allocating responsibilities and supporting the continued development of the wider finance team.
- Reviewing and authorising supplier payment runs within agreed delegated authority, ensuring payments are processed in line with treasury and financial control policies.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and other relevant statutory finance submissions, ensuring information is complete, accurate and submitted within required deadlines.
- Monitoring cash balances and treasury activity across the group, preparing bank reconciliations and ensuring sufficient liquidity is available to meet operational requirements.
- Overseeing payroll from a finance perspective, reviewing submissions from external payroll providers and preparing the associated accounting entries across UK and international entities.
- Supporting the establishment of finance operations for new countries and legal entities, helping to implement scalable processes, local compliance requirements and payroll arrangements.
- Driving continuous improvements across finance processes, systems and controls, introducing clearer procedures, operating guides and scalable ways of working as the business grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
