Finance Manager
We're delighted to be working with a well-established business based in Stockton who are looking for a Finance Manager to join their friendly and collaborative team.
This is a hands-on and varied finance role where you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, support the wider finance team and work closely with commercial and operational colleagues across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the finance team, overseeing the day-to-day finance function
- Monitor, update and forecast company cash flow
- Prepare monthly management account information and support month-end processes
- Complete monthly VAT and CIS returns
- Manage and carry out bank reconciliations
- Manage weekly and monthly supplier payment runs
- Process and manage weekly and monthly subcontractor payments
- Oversee subcontractor payments, including CIS requirements and HMRC verification
- Manage supplier and subcontractor accounts, including setting up new accounts and maintaining payment terms
- Oversee purchase ledger processes, ensuring invoices are accurately processed and recorded
- Complete intercompany recharges and monthly WIP/recharge processes
- Manage credit card reconciliations and payments
- Liaise closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information
- Support the business with financial reporting, analysis and general day-to-day finance matters

About You
We're looking for someone who is confident working across a broad finance function and enjoys being hands-on. You'll ideally have previous experience in a similar position.

Experience within construction, engineering or another project-led environment would be advantageous, particularly with knowledge of CIS and subcontractor payments.
You'll need to be organised, commercially aware and confident communicating with colleagues across different areas of the business.
Ideally, AAT or above.
