About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Finance Manager to oversee the financial management, accounting, reporting, cash flow, compliance, and financial controls of our automobile business.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in finance and accounting, preferably within the automobile, dealership, trading, distribution, or retail sector, with the ability to work closely with management and operational teams to improve profitability and financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Provide management with accurate financial analysis, forecasts, and business insights.
- Monitor revenue, gross margins, operating expenses, profitability, and financial performance.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Analyze actual performance against budgets and explain significant variances.
Automobile Business Finance
- Monitor financial performance by vehicle model, unit, branch, and business segment.
- Track vehicle purchase costs, landed costs, discounts, incentives, commissions, and gross margins.
- Monitor vehicle inventory valuation and ageing.
- Work closely with the sales and procurement teams to improve inventory turnover and profitability.
- Review dealer/manufacturer incentives, rebates, credit notes, and other commercial adjustments.
- Monitor financing arrangements for vehicle inventory and working capital.

Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Prepare and monitor daily/weekly/monthly cash-flow forecasts.
- Manage working capital, receivables, payables, and inventory.
- Monitor customer collections and outstanding balances.
- Ensure timely payments to suppliers, lenders, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain appropriate cash reserves and optimize utilization of working capital.
- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions regarding credit facilities and financing requirements.
Banking & Finance Facilities
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, auditors, tax advisors, and other financial institutions.
- Monitor loans, overdrafts, working-capital facilities, interest costs, and repayment schedules.
- Prepare financial information required for bank financing and credit reviews.
- Ensure compliance with banking covenants and financing conditions.
Accounting & Internal Controls
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Establish and maintain effective internal financial controls.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and fixed assets.
- Ensure proper controls over vehicle purchases, sales, cash receipts, discounts, refunds, and expenses.
- Identify financial risks, control weaknesses, and potential areas of fraud or leakage.
- Implement processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, payments, and statutory reporting.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for tax and regulatory purposes.
- Monitor changes in applicable tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

Audit
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Resolve audit queries and implement agreed recommendations.
- Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and properly supported.
Management Support & Business Advisory
- Work closely with the Managing Director/CEO and department heads on financial decisions.
- Evaluate the financial impact of new vehicle models, branches, investments, promotions, and major purchases.
- Provide financial analysis for pricing and discount decisions.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved profitability.
- Develop financial KPIs and dashboards for management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- 5–8+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in the automobile/dealership/trading/distribution/retail sector will be strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, cash-flow management, and internal controls.
- Strong Excel and financial-analysis skills.
- Experience with ERP/accounting software is required.
