Finance Manager Opportunity in Dudley
I'm partnering with an ambitious, acquisitive group in Dudley that is looking to appoint a Finance Manager at an exciting point in its growth. This is a chance to step into a Finance Manager role at exactly the point where the finance function is being shaped for its next stage. You'll be close to the deal activity, the integration work and the decisions that come with a fast moving business, giving you the kind of exposure that usually takes years to build elsewhere.
Why this role stands out
- Genuine M&A exposure, including completion balance sheet negotiations with sellers and accounting for each acquisition
- Ownership of the group simplification process, hiving up acquired entities and taking them through to liquidation
- A real say in designing the processes and control environment the business will scale on
- Involvement in future projects such as ERP implementation, automation and systems integration
- Direct contact with investors, funders and external advisers
- Leadership of a team of four, with room to grow your remit as the group grows

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
