We’re seeking a Finance Manager to help deliver our portfolio of ski, sport, supporters, and study travel packages to our Company’s exceptionally high standards.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Finance Director and working alongside the Managing Director, the candidate will support the daily financial and HR operations of our fast-paced business. The successful applicant will be organised, empathetic, demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, and have an appreciation of the travel industry’s unique accounting mechanisms.
Responsibilities
- Financial Monitoring: Monitor the business from a financial and commercial perspective, incorporating management accounts, foreign exchange, bookkeeping, producing legal documentation, HR, auditing, and payroll.
- P&L Management: Maintain the business' P&L and ensure the company maintains exceptional accounting and HR standards.
- Team Management: Manage a small Finance team, incorporating two Level 4 AAT Apprentices, and be able to identify necessary change and implement it when needed.

- Management accounts
- Creation and management of annual financial forecasts
- Work alongside the Managing Director and management team to manage strategic short- and long-term planning
- Coach, lead, and manage finance apprentices
- Processing supplier payments in multiple currencies accurately and on time
- Balancing cash flow across numerous bank accounts in various currencies to enable day-to-day operations as well as optimizing interest returns
Other Duties
- Process and manage monthly staff payroll (Xero Payroll)
- Human resources management – Liaise with our external HR consultancy firm to ensure compliance with constantly evolving regulations, issue employee contracts, potentially deal with sensitive issues with empathy and professionalism
- Apprenticeship/CPD Management – Liaise with external training providers, manage Apprenticeship portal and funding, attend meetings, support our employees
- Foreign exchange purchasing and transacting (inc. forward contracts)
- System reconciliations – Ensure both our tour operating system and our online booking system/merchant provider reconcile to our accounting system every month
- Insurance procurement, renewals, and contracting
- Creation of any financial reports required
- Processing foreign exchange activity and working to conversion targets
- Taxation & Quarterly (TOMS) VAT returns
- Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Managing grant funding from application to delivery
- Liaise with our external accountants annually to prepare our year-end accounts and provide them with all necessary workings
- Complete returns and renewals with the CAA and ABTOT as required to retain our licenses to operate and ensure customer financial protection in line with the PTRs
- Work alongside the Operations and Sales teams to deliver commercial targets
