Finance Manager
Cheltenham
Part-time - 20 hours per week
Up to £40K full-time equivalent
This successful Cheltenham SME is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day finance function. The role requires someone who enjoys the variety that comes with working in a smaller business and can turn their hands to most things. We’re after someone who likes to be busy, is happy to roll up their sleeves and can easily switch between running the finance function to carrying out more administrative tasks. You’ll be joining at an exciting time of growth following the company’s recent acquisition.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily banking, reconciliations and supplier payments.
- Processing non-stock supplier invoices and managing the purchase ledger.
- Monthly payroll administration through an external payroll provider, including pensions, commissions, overtime and HMRC payments.
- Quarterly VAT returns and liaison with external accountants.
- Month-end reporting, including bank reconciliations, journals, commission calculations, P&L, Balance Sheet and Trial Balance reports.
- Managing employee expenses, holiday records and providing occasional office support.

Skills & Experience
- Sage 50 Cloud experience is important.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Solid bookkeeping, payroll and month-end accounting experience.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently within a busy SME environment.
This is being recruited as a 20 hour a week role but it is envisaged that you might need to provide closer to 25 at month-end. There is some flexibility as to what hours you work but it is preferred that you are office-based throughout the week.
