Finance Manager
Train’d Up | Bridge of Allan / Stirling | Hybrid Working
Salary: £45,000–£55,000 per annum, depending on experience

Train’d Up is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead our day-to-day finance operations and play an important role in our next stage of development.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you’ll manage our finance function, lead a small team and provide the financial insight our senior leadership team needs to make confident, informed decisions.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on financial management with genuine strategic influence in a growing, private equity-backed organisation.

Train’d Up is an independent training provider specialising in apprenticeship training across the engineering and railway sectors.
With approximately 70 employees and 1,400 learners, our headquarters are currently in Bridge of Allan, with plans to relocate to Stirling.

- Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts and financial reports
- Managing cash flow and maintaining strong financial controls
- Leading and developing the finance team
- Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
- Managing payroll and pension processes alongside HR
- Presenting financial performance to senior leadership and the Board
- Supporting annual accounts and managing the external audit process
- Ensuring compliance with DfE funding, apprenticeship funding and audit requirements
- Improving financial systems, processes and reporting
- Contributing to business planning, risk management and strategic financial projects
This isn’t simply about reporting the numbers. We want you to help us understand what they mean and what we should do next.
What are we looking for?
You’ll be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified, or bring significant experience from a finance leadership role.
You’ll also need:
- Strong financial management, reporting and audit experience
- Experience within education, training or the public sector
- Knowledge of DfE funding and apprenticeship funding structures
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience
- The confidence to communicate financial information clearly
- Experience leading and developing a small finance team
- Excellent accuracy, integrity and attention to detail

Experience within an apprenticeship training provider or FE college, particularly involving ILR data, funding claims or apprenticeship levy processes, would be a real advantage.

£45,000–£55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus:
