Finance Manager - £80-85k - Central London (Hybrid)
We are partnering with a highly regarded international professional services organisation to recruit a Finance Manager. This is a broad and commercially focused role, combining financial control, reporting, planning, and business partnering within a fast-paced, people-led environment.
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will take ownership of the UK finance function's month-end close, statutory and tax compliance, budgeting and forecasting processes, while providing meaningful insight to support business performance and decision-making.
The Opportunity
This role offers a unique blend of technical accounting, financial control, and commercial finance responsibility. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, helping drive performance through insightful analysis, robust controls, and proactive business partnering.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
- Lead the month-end close process and produce monthly management accounts
- Deliver insightful variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year performance
- Maintain balance sheet integrity, including ownership of reconciliations and controls
- Manage fixed assets and oversee WIP monitoring and recovery processes

Business Partnering & Performance Analysis
- Partner with budget holders across the business, providing challenge and support
- Analyse financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Develop KPIs and management information to support strategic decision-making
- Provide recommendations that drive profitability and operational performance
Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Produce and manage regular cash flow forecasts
- Support investment decisions through robust financial analysis
Tax, Audit & Compliance
- Oversee payroll review and pension-related compliance activities
- Manage VAT, statutory, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Lead annual audit activities and coordinate with external auditors
- Ensure ongoing compliance with UK tax and reporting obligations

Team Leadership
- Manage and develop a junior finance team member
- Support process improvement, automation, and standardisation initiatives
- Contribute to wider finance projects and business transformation activities
About You
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
- Strong post-qualified experience within financial control, reporting, or finance management
- Solid knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102)
- Experience owning month-end close and balance sheet controls
- Exposure to UK tax compliance, including VAT and employment taxes
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to turn data into actionable insight
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems
- Experience within professional services or another people-centric, project-based business would be advantageous
