Role Overview

The Finance Assistant will assist the Finance team with accounts payable, accounts receivable and other transactional finance tasks, and will support the overall smooth running of the office and some HR admin and project work. The role will be office based, on a part-time, 1-year fixed term contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Accounts Payables activities including approval process for invoices and preparation of payment runs
  • Responsibility for Accounts Receivable activities including invoice preparation, validation and posting
  • Responsibility for all day-to-day cash management activities
  • Regular bank reconciliations
  • Company credit card management
  • Prepare Excel spreadsheets to track banking transactions and financial performance
  • Assist with month end procedures
  • Assist with the annual audit process
  • Support Finance, Office and HR led projects
  • Responsibility for the smooth running of the office, including liaising with the landlord and suppliers from time-to-time, weekly kitchen supply orders, ad hoc equipment and stationary orders
  • Admin support such as ad hoc travel bookings, HR system support, producing letters/documents, organising internal colleague events, maintaining office policies
  • Implementing and maintaining office policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Prioritise emails and respond when necessary.

Key Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar Finance role; no previous HR experience is needed
  • Experience in Enterprise Software, such as Sage Intacct or similar software
  • Experience across Microsoft office applications including Excel
  • Experience of working within a finance functions and knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience of working with foreign currency bank transaction and multicurrency general ledger accounting experience
  • Experience using HSBC.net is desirable but not essential
  • Some general experience of managing office supplies and equipment, coordinating with vendors and service providers, organising events (in or out of work!) and/or project work is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Collaborating effectively with colleagues both in person and virtually.
