Finance Officer - Income
Are you highly organised, detail focused and looking to develop your career in finance? We're looking for a Finance Officer - Income to join our Financial Services team.
Working as part of a supportive finance team, you will deliver an efficient and customer-focused financial transaction service to internal and external customers. You'll be responsible for processing income transactions, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the delivery of a high-quality service across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and allocate income received for rent and sundry debt accounts accurately, keeping customer accounts up to date.
- Manage customer account transactions, suspense items and account irregularities, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Process authorised account adjustments accurately, ensuring changes are controlled and supported by the appropriate approval.
- Raise and process customer and other sales invoices accurately and on time, supporting complete and reliable financial records.
- Review and reconcile income control accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, working collaboratively with colleagues to resolve differences and deliver a seamless service

This is a full time role working 37 hours per week.
Hybrid Working is available for this role working 2-3 days in the office dependent on business need. You will be based from our Exeter office.
Essential Skills
To be successful in your application for the role of Finance Officer - Income, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level 1 role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Positive and proactive approach to work.

Essential Experience
- Experience of accounting or financial administration processes.
- Experience of coordinating and delivering key tasks to deadlines.
- Experience of working in an accurate, process-driven environment.
- Experience of delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Knowledge
- Knowledge of accounting and financial administration practices.
- Understanding of financial controls and the importance of accuracy.
- Understanding of customer-focused service delivery.
Essential Qualifications
- Good level of literacy and numeracy.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications
- AAT qualified or equivalent relevant expertise gained through experience.
- Experience using finance systems, service-specific software or customer relationship management systems.
- Knowledge of service administration processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of reporting practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and legislation.
Please note: This role is not eligible for CoS. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without requiring a CoS.
