Finance Officer
Part time (20 hours), permanent
£27,000 per annum (FTE), pro-rated to part-time hours (£14,400)
Hybrid role, based in Birmingham with the expectation of 1-2 days per week in the office

Role Description
This is a part-time hybrid role based in Birmingham, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The Finance Officer will manage day-to-day financial operations, including processing invoices, expenses, and payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, supporting financial reporting for internal stakeholders and funders, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities. The Finance Officer will reconcile accounts, monitor cash flow, and help ensure compliance with relevant financial policies, charity regulations, and audit requirements. The role also involves working closely with other team members to provide clear financial information and support decision-making.

Qualifications
- Strong finance and financial reporting skills, with experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.
- Well-developed analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide clear financial insights.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-specialist colleagues and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in accounting or bookkeeping software and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of charity finance, grant reporting, or non-profit accounting practices is beneficial.
- Relevant professional qualification or working toward one (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
