This is an exciting time to join GamCare's Finance team as we continue to strengthen our processes, systems and support across the organisation.

Role Overview

As Finance Officer, you'll play an important part in the smooth day-to-day running of our finance operations, helping to ensure transactions are processed accurately, queries are handled efficiently, and our financial records are maintained to a high standard. You'll work across purchase and sales ledger, staff expenses, supplier and customer administration, and reconciliations, with the opportunity to build broader experience supporting payroll, banking, month-end activities, audits and finance systems.

It's a varied and genuinely pivotal role: your customer-focused approach will directly shape how reliable and efficient our finance service feels to colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders across GamCare. As an independent charity and the leading provider of support for anyone affected by gambling harms, the work you do behind the scenes helps keep us running smoothly, so our teams can focus on delivering the National Gambling Helpline, treatment services and prevention programmes that make a real difference to people's lives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

We're looking for someone comfortable working with financial information and confident handling routine finance administration, who understands the importance of accuracy, clear documentation and following agreed procedures. You'll be organised and detail-focused, able to manage a busy workload, with a good working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel. Just as important is how you communicate: clearly and professionally with colleagues, budget holders, suppliers and customers, helping to resolve queries and keep information flowing smoothly. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, VAT transaction processing, payroll administration, or a background in the not-for-profit sector would be a bonus, but isn't essential; we're just as interested in your approach and attitude.
