Job Opportunity: Finance Officers in Corporate Debt Team
The Corporate Debt Team within the Revenues & Debt Service is advertising for 2 permanent finance officers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a knowledgeable team responsible for the issue and recovery of the Council’s sundry debts.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks in connection with the raising and recovery of debt along with the maintenance of records in accordance with financial procedures. Responsibilities include:
- Raising invoices
- Liaising with council departments
- Resolving queries
- Answering calls via a busy duty line
- Making contact to obtain payment of outstanding invoices
- Commencing recovery action
Requirements
Interested candidates should:
- Have experience of debt recovery
- Have experience of working in a financial environment
- Have excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Have a desire to provide excellent customer service and assist those in financial difficulties
- Possess strong IT skills
- Be able to work independently, accurately, and meet deadlines
