The role
This is a hands-on finance role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the Trust and its schools. It would suit someone ambitious looking to make their next move in finance. Previous experience within an academy trust, school or wider education environment, would be ideal, although candidates from other sectors with strong transactional finance experience will also be considered.
Working as part of the central finance team, you will support across a range of areas including:
- Purchase ledger and processing supplier invoices
- Raising purchase orders and ensuring appropriate authorisation
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Processing payments and expenses
- Supporting accounts receivable and credit control
- Investigating and resolving finance queries from schools and budget holders
- Assisting with month-end processes
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting wider finance administration
- Working closely with colleagues across the Trust to ensure financial processes are followed correctly

About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience within a Finance Officer, Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role
- Is confident with transactional finance and reconciliations
- Has good Excel skills and experience using finance systems
- Is organised, accurate and comfortable managing a busy workload
- Can build positive relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues

Working arrangements
The role will initially be offered on a temporary basis with a view to becoming permanent. You will be expected to work four days per week on-site, with one day working from home. The Trust can offer flexibility around working hours during term time, making this a particularly attractive opportunity for someone looking for some flexibility alongside a full-time finance position.
