RABBLE Theatre is hiring: Finance Officer
We’re looking for an experienced, conscientious and collaborative Finance Officer to join RABBLE Theatre as we enter an exciting period of growth.
RABBLE is a celebrated professional theatre company based in Reading, UK. We create local stories of national significance while using theatre to develop individuals, embolden communities and champion women.
This is a key role in a small, ambitious charity. You’ll work closely with our Artistic Director, General Manager, Treasurer and department leads, helping us make sound financial decisions and ensuring that our financial systems are robust, accurate and fit for purpose.
The role:
- Salary: £38,000 pro rata (£22,800 actual salary)
- Hours: 24 hours / 3 days per week
- Location: Reading, with 1–2 days per week in the office
- Contract type: Permanent
- Closing date: Friday 9 October 2026

We’re looking for someone with at least three years’ experience in bookkeeping, financial administration or management accounting, with strong Excel skills and experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across a genuinely interesting range of financial activity, including:
- Management accounts and budget monitoring
- Cashflow forecasting
- Bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Restricted and unrestricted funds
- Grant reporting
- Gift Aid and Theatre Tax Relief
- Payroll, pensions and PAYE
- Year-end accounts and audit preparation
