Temporary Opportunity - Finance Officer (Performance & Reporting)

  • Administration Officer Level 5 Year 1-2
  • $41.52-$42.46 per hour, excluding superannuation.

Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced internal employees for a temporary opportunity within the Finance Department.

This role has become available to provide additional support to the Finance team while the permanent Management Accountant position is recruited.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful applicant will work closely with the Acting Management Accountant and Finance team to assist with month-end processes, financial reporting and management accounting support activities.

Temporary Appointment

Temporary until the permanent Management Accountant position is filled or until further notice.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Assist with month-end financial processes including journals, accruals and prepayments.
  • Extract financial information from Technology One and other financial systems.
  • Assist with preparation of standard financial reports and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with fixed asset administration, including asset acquisitions, transfers, disposals, write-offs and retirements in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure all asset transactions are processed accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Process monthly asset capitalisation and depreciation.
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the role as directed by the Financial Controller or Acting Management Accountant.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working in a finance, accounting or business support environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
