About The Role

Worksop College and Ranby House is a single school community spread across two sites, educating children aged two to eighteen. The school has excellent facilities in a beautiful setting, and it values every pupil's individual strengths, whether academic, sporting, musical or creative.

As Finance Officer, you will support the Head of Finance with the school's transactional accounting. You will look after the purchase ledger, process purchase orders, invoices and expenses, and help with cash management and bank reconciliations. The department's records need to be up to date every day so that reports are accurate and on time. You will also be the first point of contact for pupils and staff who come to the finance office.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining the purchase ledger daily and inputting invoices accurately into the accounting software
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies
  • Making sure purchase orders are authorised by the right budget holder and matched to invoices
  • Reviewing the purchase ledger regularly and resolving supplier queries
  • Handling pupil pocket money requests and reconciliations
  • Maintaining and reconciling cash accounts and floats
  • Banking cash and cheques promptly
  • Acting as the front desk for the finance department, helping pupils and staff
  • Collecting and distributing the department's post each day
  • Keeping records in line with school policies and audit requirements
  • Following financial regulations, policies and procedures

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
