Role Description
The Finance Officer (part-time) will support CapEQ’s financial operations and reporting processes in a hybrid role based in the Greater Reading Area, with flexibility for some work from home. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Assisting with monthly and annual financial reporting
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Reconciling accounts
- Monitoring cash flow
- Providing analytical insights to support leadership decision-making

The role also involves:
- Collaborating with partners and team members to ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant regulations
- Contributing to continuous improvement of finance processes
Qualifications
- Strong finance and analytical skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and supporting decision-making.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements and financial reporting, including management and statutory reports.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within professional services, advisory, or SMEs.
- Comfort with hybrid working arrangements and ability to manage time and priorities independently.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheets and accounting software; familiarity with UK accounting standards and tax principles is an advantage.
- Professional qualification or part-qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent practical experience is beneficial.
- Commitment to ethical business practices and alignment with B Corp values around people, purpose, and impact.
