£13.90 per hour | Full Time, Fixed Term until Easter 2027, On-site | Teignmouth

Cathedral Appointments is recruiting on behalf of a Teignmouth based client. They are seeking a Finance Officer to join their central finance team on a fixed-term basis until Easter 2027, providing high-quality financial administration and support.

The Role

As Finance Officer, you will help ensure the accurate processing and recording of financial transactions, supporting robust financial controls across the trust. Working closely with the Head of Finance and budget holders, you will play an important part in the effective day-to-day management of resources. This role suits a methodical, detail-focused finance professional who enjoys variety and takes pride in getting things right.

  • Process financial transactions, journals and adjustments to support monthly and year end accounting
  • Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders and supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Raise sales invoices, monitor outstanding balances and process incoming payments
  • Support budget holders with financial information, reporting and expenditure monitoring
  • Carry out regular bank and control account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with internal controls and audit requirements

Requirements for the Finance Officer include:

  • Education to GCSE level including Maths and English, or demonstrable relevant experience
  • AAT qualification or equivalent vocational experience
  • Experience processing invoices, payments and financial transactions
  • Confident using financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
