Job Title: Finance Officer (Workflow Business Unit)

Salary: £25,800 - £27,500 per annum

Hours: 35 Hours per Week

Location: Wildwood Office - Worcester

Team: Workflow Business Unit

Position Type: Permanent

About the Role

Within Finance Operational Services (FOS) we are continually working to ensure the services we deliver support the wider business, our adults and children with care and support needs, and our customer journey too. We support the Finance Operational Services (FOS) Leadership Team in providing strategic, statutory and core financial services to directly support the Council in helping to maintain, improve and deliver frontline services for Worcestershire’s customers, residents and businesses.

Workflow Business Unit

The WBU underpins the work of several teams within Finance and, to successfully provide this service, all WBU Officers liaise with the Council’s Customer Contact Centre daily to be able to respond to finance queries, and meet the standards expected in our Service Level Agreement. All team members speak to a variety of customers including adults with care and support needs, adult social care colleagues, Social Workers, schools and businesses, so to be successful in this position excellent communication skills are essential.

Examples of daily routine tasks are assisting with processing financial assessments, resolving Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable queries in line with expected service standards, timescales and within defined legislation and processing transactions. The team are also expected to be able to step out of the daily business as usual tasks and provide flexible ad-hoc support to other Finance Operational Services (FOS) teams, as required and instructed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
