Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Operations Apprentice to join our high-performing Finance team. Not only is this an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple finance functions but will also lead into gaining a qualification via our apprenticeship programme starting in September 2026.
We are seeking someone who is eager to develop a career in finance, thrives in a team environment, and is motivated by delivering high-quality work. You should be adaptable, driven, and ready to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Assist in raising sales invoices in line with contractual agreements
- Respond to sponsor and customer invoice queries, ensuring timely resolution of issues
Treasury
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cashbook postings
- Take ownership of the overnight deposit process

Accounts Payable
- Handle supplier queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Ensure invoices are paid within agreed terms
- Support preparation of payment runs, including ad-hoc and proforma payments
- Assist with payables reporting and analysis
- Maintain accurate financial documentation, including VAT invoice tracking
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including P2P workshops and PO training
Transactional Finance
- Post and reconcile credit card transactions and employee expenses
- Act as a point of contact for internal queries related to expenses and cards
- Monitor spending activity and flag unusual transactions
- Manage prepaid card balances and follow up on late submissions
General Finance Duties
- Support payment processing and invoice management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Be able to undertake an apprenticeship in September 2026
- Minimum 5 GCSE’s (9 - 4) including in Maths and English.
