Finance Operations Lead

£38,000–£42,000 | Remote UK / London / Edinburgh | Full-time

Are you someone who naturally asks, “how can we make this quicker, smarter and more efficient?”

I’m delighted to be working with a fast-growing, award-winning education technology company to recruit a Finance Operations Lead.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking for a broad, hands-on finance role within a genuinely mission-driven organisation, where you’ll have plenty of ownership and the opportunity to improve how things are done.

About the organisation

The organisation is an ambitious and rapidly growing EdTech company with a strong social purpose: helping to level the playing field for young people making decisions about their future after school.

Its platform brings together impartial information to help students explore their options and make stronger applications, while supporting teachers and careers professionals through the process. It already works with more than half of UK secondary schools, alongside hundreds of international schools around the world.

It’s also an award-winning employer, recognised among Escape the City’s top 1% of employers, with a culture built around openness, innovation, development and giving people the opportunity to make a genuine impact.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role

Working as part of a small, high-performing finance team and reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll take ownership of a broad range of finance operations while helping the function become increasingly efficient and scalable.

This isn’t a narrow transactional role. You’ll get involved across reconciliations, accounts receivable, cash flow, analysis, budgeting and forecasting, while actively looking for opportunities to streamline and automate processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing and reconciling transactions and supporting month-end close
  • Owning the accounts receivable process and improving debt collection
  • Preparing monthly cash flow and variance analysis
  • Calculating sales commissions for monthly payroll
  • Supporting annual budgeting and rolling forecasts
  • Undertaking financial modelling and ad-hoc analysis
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Improving, streamlining and automating finance processes
  • Acting as a key point of contact for finance queries across the organisation

About you

You’ll ideally have previous experience within a finance or finance operations role, with strong numerical skills, commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.

Just as importantly, they’re looking for someone who takes ownership, shows initiative and naturally thinks about how processes could work better.

You’ll need to be confident with Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUPs and formulas. Experience with Xero or Salesforce would be useful, although neither is essential.

Salary, flexibility & benefits

  • Salary: £38,000–£42,000 depending on experience
  • Location: Fully remote anywhere in the UK, or work flexibly from offices in London or Edinburgh
  • Holiday: 28 days plus bank holidays
  • Hours: Full-time, with an early Friday finish
  • Start: ASAP, although there is flexibility for the right person
  • Unifrog Finance Operations Lead…
  • Closing date: Friday 9th October
  • First-stage interviews: Week commencing 12th October

There’s a real emphasis on long-term development and progression, including an annual training allowance, individual development objectives and the opportunity to influence the direction of a growing company.

If you’re looking for a broad finance role where you can take ownership, improve processes and make a tangible contribution within a purpose-led, award-winning organisation, I’d love to hear from you.
