Finance Operations Manager
Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Operations Manager to join a large, not-for-profit organisation. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the finance transactions function, ensuring robust financial controls, efficient processes, and the delivery of a high-quality service across the organisation.
Leading the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, and Payroll teams, you will play a pivotal role in driving process improvements, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
- Oversee the accurate and timely operation of sales and purchase ledgers.
- Manage the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring compliance with HMRC legislation, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Lead payroll year-end activities, including P60s, P11Ds, and reconciliations.
- Review and improve financial transaction processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor aged debtors and creditors, proactively resolving issues and improving cash collection.
- Manage cash flow and produce rolling cash flow forecasts to support financial planning.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and consolidated reporting.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, funders, suppliers, and external partners.
- Investigate and resolve complex financial queries while ensuring compliance with internal policies and financial regulations.

Essential Experience

- You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience leading finance transaction teams within a complex organisation.
- You will also have:
- Experience managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll functions.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, HMRC compliance, and statutory payments.
- Proven experience driving process improvement and leading change initiatives.
- Experience of cash flow management, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business.
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
