Finance & Payments Clerk

Location: 200 Aldersgate Street, London (Office-based, 5 days per week)
Salary: Up to £35K per annum (depending on experience)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance & Payments Clerk to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop a long-term career in finance, accounting and financial services.

The Role

Reporting to senior management, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, including payment processing, accounting administration and general office support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and submitting payment requests accurately and efficiently.
  • Processing payments and maintaining payment records.
  • Assisting with basic accounting and bookkeeping functions.
  • Reconciling transactions and supporting finance reporting activities.
  • Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records.
  • Liaising with banks, suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding payments and finance matters.
  • Assisting with FCA-related operational and compliance processes where required.
  • Providing general administrative support to the business.
  • Supporting ad hoc projects and operational initiatives across the wider group.
  • Assisting with documentation and reporting for UK and Hong Kong group entities when required.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Proactive, positive and willing to learn.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Confident handling sensitive financial information.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience in an administrative, finance, accounts payable, payments or bookkeeping role.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Good numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within an FCA-regulated environment.
  • Experience with payment processing, accounts payable or financial operations.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and financial controls.
  • Exposure to financial services, investment firms or regulated businesses.
