About Burendo
We’re an award-winning technology consultancy helping organisations deliver great products and services through technology. We’re a people-first business of around 80 employees, and we care as much about how we work as what we deliver. Our People and Finance functions sit at the heart of everything we do, keeping the business running smoothly, compliantly and with genuine care for the people within it.
The Role
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone early in their career to get broad, meaningful experience across both HR and Finance in a growing tech consultancy. You will sit across both functions, supporting the Finance and People Team with the day-to-day activity that keeps Burendo running well.
No two days will be the same. One morning you might be processing payroll inputs and the next you’re onboarding a new joiner or helping with a bank reconciliation. If you are organised, detail-oriented and genuinely interested in how businesses work from the inside, this role will give you an exceptional foundation across two critical business functions.
Finance & Accounts
- Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable
- Raise sales invoices, manage accounts receivable and support credit control on overdue accounts
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations, escalating discrepancies to the Financial Controller
- Support cash and balance sheet reconciliations
- Process employee expenses, checking receipts and policy compliance
- Support payroll prep, including new joiners, leavers and pay changes
- Maintain accurate records in Xero and Bankline
- Support month-end close, including accrual schedules and documentation
- Help coordinate audit requests with accurate, timely documentation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
