The Role
Looking to gain real-world experience in Finance? This is your chance to work with one of the UK’s top retailers!
Next PLC, a FTSE 100 company and leader in the retail industry, is seeking enthusiastic and ambitious students to join our Finance University Placement Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills, gain hands-on experience and kick-start your career in a fast-paced and dynamic finance environment.
This is a 12-month ‘placement’ starting in July 2027 and applicants must be studying on a relevant degree course that includes a dedicated placement year.

- Work alongside experienced finance teams, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support key business decisions.
- Get involved in various projects that will help streamline processes, improve efficiency and support growth.
- Gain exposure to different departments within finance, giving you a broad understanding of how a successful retail business operates.
What You Will Bring

You’ll bring:
- Studying for a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related subject.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for learning and development.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- An interest in understanding how finance supports wider business performance and decision-making.
- A willingness to take ownership, embrace new challenges and step outside your comfort zone.
