We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Finance team at Greggs as Financial Processes Manager and play a pivotal role in optimising cash flow, enhancing financial processes and driving business performance.

About the Role

This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered. We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role.

The base location for this role is Greggs House, Quorum Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8BU.

What You'll Do

As our Financial Processes Manager you will be responsible for managing the teams that manage cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable, leading a continuous improvement approach as we look to maximise our working capital performance, and improve our underlying processes utilising SAP and new technologies. The role will also be responsible for VAT management, ensuring the underlying processes accurately capture and record input and output VAT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct line management of cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable teams.
  • Driving improvements in the robustness, accuracy and efficiency of the end-to-end processes that feed into the cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable teams.
  • Managing day-to-day relationships with our banking and card issuing partners.
  • Managing VAT to ensure our obligations for collecting and paying over the net tax due to HMRC are robustly met.
  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations for the GL accounts related to cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Other support to the Finance team and rest of the business as required.

About You

You will fit right into this role if you:

  • Are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with an excellent understanding of core financial processes and experience of optimising cash and working capital
  • Having experience of VAT management would be advantageous
  • Are an expert user of Microsoft Excel and confident in using other Microsoft products (Powerpoint, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerBI)
  • Have a track record of forming and strengthening trusted relationships across functions and are confident at communicating key financial information to different audiences with the ability to influence decision making
  • Can multi-task and work with multiple priorities at pace, delivering results within tight timescales
  • Have good attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of information provided
  • Are self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and using own initiative to identify and implement process improvements
  • Enjoy being part of a hard-working team, sharing the same end goal, and celebrating results together.
