Finance Lead โ€“ Transformation Programme | Oxford | FTC or Contract

Iโ€™m looking for an experienced Finance Lead to play a pivotal role in a major finance and business transformation programme.

This isnโ€™t a role where youโ€™ll simply provide finance input from the sidelines. Youโ€™ll be at the heart of Project Nexus, representing finance throughout the design and delivery of a new Lead-to-Cash operating model.

Youโ€™ll work across finance, technology and the wider business to make sure processes, systems, controls, accounting policies and reporting requirements are properly considered and built into the future-state solution.

What youโ€™ll be doing:

  • Providing direction and supporting decisions across all finance-related programme activity
  • Making sure finance requirements are captured, prioritised and aligned with the wider programme
  • Representing finance in design workshops, governance forums and steering meetings
  • Leading the finance input across GL, financial dimensions, intercompany accounting, consolidations, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, collections and fixed assets
  • Identifying and escalating risks, issues and dependencies
  • Leading finance involvement in end-to-end UAT
  • Supporting cutover planning, deployment and hypercare
  • Helping to resolve post-go-live issues and stabilise new processes

Iโ€™m in my final year doing Economics and I donโ€™t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer โ€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donโ€™t need a masters. Letโ€™s look at the ones youโ€™d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet โ€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The role is hybrid, with three days a week in the Oxford office and some additional flexibility required around cutover. It can be offered as either a fixed-term contract or a contractor appointment, depending on the successful person.
