Finance Project Lead

Up to £70,000 + benefits

Partner Financial is collaborating with a leading international consumer business that is currently undergoing a significant period of finance transformation and change. With a strong global presence and an established market position, the organisation is investing heavily in its finance function, with a particular focus on strengthening financial controls, improving reporting capabilities and driving greater efficiency through automation.

The Finance Project Lead will play a key role within the Finance team, leading a range of critical projects designed to enhance the control environment, improve reporting and streamline finance processes. This is a hands-on position suited to a qualified accountant who enjoys working across both technical finance and business transformation.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving improvements across financial reporting, controls and finance processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and transparency.
  • Developing and enhancing balance sheet reporting, with a particular focus on automation, data quality and reducing manual intervention.
  • Designing and improving management information to provide stakeholders with clearer insight into financial performance, including Travel & Expenses reporting.
  • Reviewing existing finance processes to identify control weaknesses, duplication and opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Developing and maintaining Risk & Control Matrices, ensuring key financial risks are appropriately identified, documented and mitigated.
  • Working closely with finance stakeholders to strengthen the overall control environment and ensure processes remain fit for purpose.
  • Providing hands-on support throughout the month-end close, helping to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Supporting internal and external audit activity, coordinating information requests and ensuring appropriate controls and supporting documentation are in place.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive finance activities, reduce manual reporting and improve the overall quality of financial information.
  • Partnering with finance and wider business teams to implement new processes, systems and controls effectively.
  • Monitoring the impact of process changes and continuously identifying further opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical accounting and financial control expertise.
  • Proven experience delivering finance transformation, process improvement or control-related projects.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting and balance sheet processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused, with the ability to operate effectively in a changing environment.
