The Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidate to serve as the principal delivery partner to the initiative owner across two Finance Performance Programme (FPP) initiatives — Discounting, and Targets & Incentives. The remaining FPP workstreams carry their own support structures, so this role is deliberately focused on these two.

Reporting to the VP of Commercial Finance, within the Commercial Finance function, the Finance Projects Lead / Programme Manager owns converting design into delivery. Where McKinsey lead the design and modelling of the incentive framework, this role co-ordinates execution across the regions, works with local teams to gather and validate the data the design depends on, and — the single largest call on their time — builds genuine local buy-in, surfacing objections early and feeding regional learnings back into the design so that what launches is both commercially sound and workable on the ground.

The position is a temporary (interim) role for 6 months, full time. It will be London based, with travel across Europe as required.

Key Accountabilities

Programme leadership

  • Own the integrated FPP plan, milestones, dependencies, RAID log and governance calendar.
  • Chair the programme working group and report progress, risks and benefit realisation to the sponsor and steering committee.

Initiative delivery — Discounting and Targets & Incentives

  • Operate as the principal delivery partner to the initiative owner across both initiatives, with delegated authority to drive day-to-day execution on their behalf.
  • Design and modelling of the incentive framework is led by McKinsey; the discounting framework and approval thresholds are developed in-house. In both cases the activity for this role is:
    • Data: work with local teams to source, cleanse and validate the data the design and modelling depend on. Own the quality and timeliness of inputs to the owner and to McKinsey, and challenge numbers that do not stand up.
    • Execution co-ordination: translate the agreed design into a practical, sequenced rollout plan per region, with clear owners, milestones and dependencies, and drive it through to delivery.
    • Local buy-in: expect this to be the single largest call on the role. Build the relationships that get regional FDs, commercial leads and Commercial Operations genuinely bought into what is being launched: socialise the design early, surface objections and practical constraints before they harden into resistance, and feed credible regional feedback back into the design.
    • Launch and embed: manage the handover from design into launch and into BAU, including HR/Reward and Commercial touchpoints, and the governance and reporting needed to police discount approvals on an ongoing basis.
    • Benefit tracking: track realised margin and performance impact against the business case, and report progress, risk and value to the owner and steering.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Resource management

  • Support the VP of Commercial Finance in directing the temporary regional senior finance managers (UK, NL & Ireland, Nordics, Mid-South), set priorities across FPP and BAU demands, and track spend against the approved resource plan.

BAU protection

  • Ensure programme demands are sequenced around the 2027 BU budget process (Sept–Nov), including support for the more rigorous bottom-up revenue build for target setting.

Change & adoption

  • Support local FDs in shifting from reporting to driving action, including embedding the new group reporting pack.

Success Measures (First 6 Months)

  • Discounting framework agreed, rolled out across the in-scope regions and delivering quantified, tracked margin benefit.
  • Incentive framework moved from McKinsey design into an agreed, sequenced launch plan with named regional owners.
  • Regional finance and commercial leads demonstrably bought in — objections surfaced early, feedback visibly reflected in the final design, no late-stage regional pushback derailing launch.
  • Data inputs for discounting and incentive modelling sourced, cleansed and validated to a standard the owner and McKinsey can rely on.
  • Clear single view of plan, risks and benefit realisation in place for both initiatives, reported to the owner and steering on a regular cadence.
  • Delivery achieved without derailing local BAU commitments, notably the 2027 budget process (Sept–Nov).

Candidate Profile

Essential experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with strong commercial finance grounding.
  • Proven track record leading multi-workstream finance transformation or performance improvement programmes in a multi-country environment.
  • Hands-on experience of pricing, rate card design, discounting governance or margin improvement work.
  • Experience working alongside external strategy consultants — able to take a design handed over by a third party and drive it into execution.
  • Comfortable working with imperfect data — able to structure, cleanse and interrogate large datasets and build credible analysis quickly (advanced Excel; Power BI or equivalent an advantage).
  • Credible with senior stakeholders; able to influence regional FDs and commercial leaders without direct line authority.
  • Formal programme/project management discipline (planning, RAID, benefits tracking); recognised methodology certification desirable.

Desirable

  • Media services, broadcast, technical services or asset-intensive services sector experience.
  • Experience of asset and people utilisation reporting.
  • Experience operating in a PE-backed or turnaround environment.

Personal attributes

  • Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing and often fluid priorities.
  • Self-starting and hands-on, willing to build the analysis pe personally rather than rely on a support team.
  • Experience leading multi-team, multi-territory transformation or other large programmes of work.
  • Strong experience in matrixed, multi-entity organisations, with multi-territory P&L exposure.
  • Experience launching new incentive schemes and/or pricing and discounting programmes highly desirable.
  • Strong capability to synthesise complex information and processes into simple, clear communication for relevant stakeholders.
  • Comfortable making recommendations on incomplete data, and knowing when an answer is good enough to act on.
  • Resilient and credible under challenge; able to hold regional FDs and commercial leaders to account on delivery without direct line authority.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to turn information into actionable insight.
  • Ability and willingness to operate in an unstructured, process-light environment, and to be part of the solution in driving rigour and improvement.
  • A strong collaborator, confident communicator and natural problem-solver.
  • Culturally astute, with experience of working across multiple European markets and with remote teams.
