Marc Daniels is partnering with a growing and ambitious business to recruit a Finance Project Manager to join its Finance team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role with responsibility for project accounting, revenue recognition, month-end reporting, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of project balances across the ledger.
This position will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys working closely with both Finance and operational teams, and who can bring structure, control, and insight to a fast-growing business.
The role
You will own the accounting across all revenue-generating disciplines, ensuring project balances are accurate, complete, and fully explained. You will be responsible for revenue recognition on a percentage completion basis, WIP, accrued and deferred revenue, project cost accounting, and the reconciliation of contract asset and liability positions.

You will also lead a controlled month-end close across the project ledgers, prepare the monthly project summary report, and support the production of management accounts down to gross margin. Working closely with Commercial Finance and the wider business, you will help ensure accounting entries are supported, reconciled, and clearly understood.
Key responsibilities
- Own monthly revenue recognition across all revenue-generating disciplines on a percentage completion basis.
- Account for WIP, accrued revenue, deferred revenue, contract assets, and contract liabilities.
- Reconcile certified and applied values against revenue recognised and explain variances.
- Own project cost accruals, subcontract accounting, provisions, retentions, and related balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead month-end close for project ledgers, including cut-off and period-end adjustments.
- Produce the monthly project summary report, covering P&L and balance sheet movements.
- Reconcile the project ledger to the general ledger and support statutory reporting.
- Prepare the trading result down to gross margin within the monthly management accounts.
- Provide commentary on movements in revenue, cost, margin, and intercompany balances.

About you
- Qualified accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA.
- Strong project accounting and revenue recognition experience.
- Good knowledge of month-end processes, reconciliations, and management reporting.
- Confident working with commercial teams and explaining accounting adjustments clearly.
- Experience with FRS 102 is highly desirable, and IFRS 15 awareness would be an advantage.
