Finance Recruitment Consultant
Location: Worcester / Hybrid
Salary: £35,000–£42,000 basic + bonus/commission up to 25%

The Opportunity
GMP Recruitment is looking for an experienced Finance Recruitment Consultant to join our growing Professional Services division.
We’re deliberately open-minded on background. You might currently recruit within:
- Practice: Audit, Tax, Accounts, Corporate Finance, or Advisory
- Industry: Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Financial Control, Finance Leadership, or related disciplines
What matters more to us is that you understand the finance recruitment market, know how to build genuine relationships, and want the freedom to develop a desk rather than simply inherit a list of KPIs.
This is an opportunity to join an established, independently owned recruitment business where you’ll have the autonomy to build your market, backed by an experienced team, strong infrastructure, and an existing client network.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll take ownership of a specialist Finance recruitment desk, developing existing relationships while identifying and winning new business. Your role will include:
- Building and managing a portfolio of clients across your chosen Finance specialism.
- Recruiting roles from transactional and part-qualified level through to qualified, senior management, and leadership appointments.
- Developing long-term relationships with Finance Directors, CFOs, Partners, hiring managers, and internal Talent teams.
- Proactively identifying, approaching, and representing high-quality passive candidates.
- Winning new business through intelligent BD, networking, referrals, and market knowledge.
- Managing recruitment processes from initial briefing through to interview, offer, and placement.
- Providing candidates and clients with genuine market insight rather than simply matching CVs to vacancies.
- Working collaboratively with the wider GMP team to maximize cross-selling and shared opportunities.
- Developing your own reputation and network within the Finance community.

Who We're Looking For
We’d love to speak with an established recruiter who already understands the Accountancy & Finance market. You could currently specialize in:
- Practice: Audit, Accounts, Tax, Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Restructuring, or Advisory.
- Industry: Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Financial Control, Finance Leadership, or related disciplines.
You don’t necessarily need to arrive with a transferable client book. We’re much more interested in your ability to develop relationships, understand people, and create opportunities. You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous recruitment experience within Accountancy & Finance.
- A demonstrable record of developing clients and successfully placing candidates.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- A commercial mindset and willingness to develop new business.
- The ability to manage your own desk and priorities.
- A consultative approach – we want relationships that last beyond one placement.
- Plenty of personality. Recruitment is a people business, and we intend to keep it that way.
