SENIOR FINANCE ASSISTANT
LOCATION
Fully remote. The client is based in London.
PAY
£300 to £340 per day via umbrella (£40.00 to £45.33 per hour equivalent at 7.5 hours; £78,000 to £88,400 per annum equivalent at 37.5 hours)
CONTRACT
Contract, full-time. Three to six months.
REPORTING TO
Finance Manager (client side)
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Finance Assistant works through the backlog of allocations and reconciliations created by the system transition, matches invoices to payments, resolves discrepancies and supports credit control until the ledgers are current.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work through outstanding finance allocations and reconciliations.
- Match invoices against payments and investigate discrepancies.
- Allocate payments and receipts accurately against customer accounts.
- Review and resolve outstanding items following the move from Sage to D365 Business Central.
- Support bringing credit control activity back up to date.
- Investigate account discrepancies and work with stakeholders to resolve them.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reconciliation schedules.
- Use Excel to analyse financial data and identify outstanding or incorrect transactions.
- Provide wider finance support as required during the system transition.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Previous experience as a Senior Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or in a similar finance role.
- Strong experience across reconciliations, payment allocation and invoice matching.
- Good understanding of customer accounts and credit control processes.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal handover.
- Availability to start at short notice.
- A stable home internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- The right to work in the UK.

DESIRABLE
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Experience with Sage.
- Previous experience supporting a finance system migration.
