Finance Support Manager
We're looking for a confident and experienced Finance Support Manager to lead and develop a regional team of client finance professionals.
This is an important leadership role where you'll take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, ensuring our clients receive accurate, timely and professional financial information. You'll create a well-organised, motivated and knowledgeable team, with the right skills, processes and support in place to consistently deliver an excellent service.
As well as leading the team, you'll work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders from across the business, including Property Managers, senior operational leaders, key clients and IT. You'll use your financial expertise and people-management skills to improve performance, strengthen processes and ensure risks or service issues are identified and addressed.
Where will I be working?
This is a full-time office based role working at our offices in Hoddesdon (EN11 0DR)
What you'll be doing:
- Leading and coordinating the team's day-to-day financial operations, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed service levels.
- Building, managing and developing a motivated, knowledgeable and self-supporting finance team through effective coaching, training and performance management.
- Completing quality-control checks on financial transactions and system reporting, identifying issues and ensuring appropriate action is taken.
- Monitoring team performance against key performance indicators and preparing clear management information on client performance for senior stakeholders and the Board.
- Managing complex financial queries, escalated complaints and key client relationships in a professional and solutions-focused way.
- Developing and documenting financial accounting processes, keeping procedures and user guides accurate and up to date.
- Leading and supporting projects that improve efficiency, strengthen compliance, reduce risk and promote better use of systems and new functionality.
What we're looking for:
- A strong and supportive finance people manager with experience of leading and developing a team, ideally with between 5 and 10 direct reports.
- A Chartered or Certified Accountant, or someone who has reached the professional-level stage of their qualification.
- Experience of working within a busy, high-volume finance environment, with the ability to balance operational delivery, accuracy and customer service.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to produce clear, professional written communications and management information.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time-management skills, alongside the confidence to manage complex queries and competing priorities.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and business change, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working. Knowledge of the property-management industry and project experience would be advantageous.
