Job Title: Finance Systems Analyst
Location: Manchester City Centre
Reports to: Financial Controller
The Role
We're looking for a Finance Systems Analyst to sit at the intersection of our finance and technology functions. This is a hands-on, varied role: you'll own the administration of our practice management system, Elite 3E, and its integration with bespoke software solutions while also supporting the wider finance team with data extracts, Excel-based analysis, and Power BI reporting.
You'll be the go-to person for finance system queries, working cross functions to drive improvements in this area in a newly created role. If you enjoy solving problems, working closely with a knowledgeable team, and turning data into clear insight, this role is a great fit.
The ideal candidate will be resilient, commercially driven, and will champion our culture and values: Compassionomics, Laser-like Focus, Humour and Boundaryless.
Responsibilities
User & Access Management
- Set up, maintain, and deactivate user accounts and roles within Elite 3E in line with access control policies.
- Set up and maintain fee earner profiles across systems, ensuring data is processed accurately and preventing failures caused by system dependencies.
System Configuration & Data Integrity
- Administer and maintain system configuration, including matter types, billing arrangements, general ledger accounts, and finance workflows.
- Carry out routine system housekeeping and maintenance, including data integrity checks and period-end support activities.
- Monitor the integrity of various sub-ledgers in Elite 3E, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner, and support month-end balancing of sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
Stakeholder Management, Testing & Documentation
- Act as the first point of contact for finance and other gcTrust teams on finance system related issues, taking ownership through to resolution.
- Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders on system updates, patches, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate finance User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release testing for system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes, working with vendors and internal stakeholders to plan test cycles, track issues, and confirm sign-off before go-live.
- Document system processes, configuration changes, and user guidance materials.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities across the various finance team’s system interactions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
