Finance Systems Implementation Lead

Three Bridges Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a prominent not-for-profit organisation based in Glasgow to appoint a Finance Systems Implementation Lead on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a high-profile, standalone opportunity reporting directly to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Finance Manager and People & Culture team. The purpose of the position is to spearhead the continued development and optimisation of the organisation’s finance systems, while leading the critical implementation of a modern, integrated payroll solution.

Having transitioned to a modern cloud-based finance platform last year, the organisation is embarking on the next phase of its digital transformation. With day-to-day finance operations at capacity, this role provides the dedicated focus and systems capability required to embed existing software, eliminate legacy manual processes, and modernise their wider HR and payroll ecosystem.

The position offers an ideal balance of project leadership, strategic process improvement, and hands-on systems configuration, giving you the autonomy to deliver meaningful, long-term efficiency and value across the entire organisation.

Why Work Here?

  • Remuneration: Salary up to £55,000 per annum (12-month fixed-term contract).
  • Flexible Working Model: Hybrid working arrangement (typically 3 days on-site in Glasgow / 2 days remote), with open consideration for flexible working patterns.
  • High Visibility: Strong strategic exposure across the executive leadership team, departmental heads, and operational budget holders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Job

The role of Finance Systems Implementation Lead will give you the opportunity to:

  • Lead Payroll Implementation: Drive the finance and payroll workstream for a new integrated HR & Payroll solution—guiding requirements definition, vendor evaluation input, system design, data migration, testing, parallel runs, and rollout ahead of a planned Spring go-live.
  • Optimise Finance Systems: Maximise the functional capabilities of the cloud finance platform, leading enhancements in reporting, budget-holder self-service, expenses, corporate credit card automation, and forecasting tools.
  • Re-engineer Business Processes: Review end-to-end finance procedures and controls, eliminating legacy paper-based workarounds to build scalable, automated, and secure workflows.
  • Partner with Key Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with operational directors, budget holders, and the People & Culture team to translate organisational needs into practical, user-friendly system solutions.
  • Champion Change & Training: Design user guides, deliver tailored training, and support colleagues across both finance and operational departments through system transitions to build confidence and user adoption.

You

As Finance Systems Implementation Lead, you will likely possess the following:

  • Systems Implementation Track Record: Proven experience implementing, embedding, or optimising financial management systems / ERPs (exposure to cloud ERP platforms, or HR/payroll integrations is advantageous, but broader finance systems implementation experience is equally welcome).
  • Financial Credibility: Qualified / Part-Qualified accountant or Qualified by Experience (QBE) with a solid grasp of financial controls, accounting workflows, and management reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Diplomacy: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain systems clearly to non-finance staff, engage budget holders, and navigate organisational change constructively.
  • Project & Change Delivery: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to managing project milestones, data migrations, and reconciliations.
