Recruit with Purpose: Systems Accountant for Housing Association
Recruit with Purpose are supporting a leading Housing Association that is replacing its finance system and needs a Systems Accountant to lead the finance workstream of a major transformation programme.
Moving from Open Accounts to MRI Financials, you will act as the link between Finance and Technology, making sure the new system meets the organisation's requirements and is embedded successfully across the business.
The Role
- Lead the finance systems workstream for the migration from Open Accounts to MRI Financials
- Act as the primary Finance subject matter expert throughout the project lifecycle
- Translate finance operational needs into clear functional requirements
- Support the design of future-state processes across general ledger, chart of accounts, approvals, purchase to pay, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, budgeting, reporting and month-end
- Review MRI configuration, workflows, user roles and approval routes to confirm they meet finance, internal control and audit requirements
- Support finance data migration, including data cleansing, mapping, reconciliation, validation and sign-off of opening balances, transactions and master data
- Support User Acceptance Testing, manage issue resolution and track system defects
- Develop finance system controls, workflows and reporting structures, and identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes

What they are looking for from you
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Degree-level qualification or relevant professional experience
- Previous experience of using Open Accounts
- Experience as a Systems Accountant, Finance Systems Analyst, Finance Business Partner with systems responsibility, or similar
- Experience supporting or leading financial systems implementations, upgrades or migrations
- Strong understanding of core finance processes: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Budgeting and Forecasting, and Financial Reporting
- Experience of data migration, reconciliation and testing

Contract Details
- This role will be a 12 month contract Inside IR35
- Day rate is negotiable dependant on your experience
- Hybrid working 2 days a week in the Midlands
- Immediate start is preferential for this role
