Overview
We're looking for a Finance Systems Manager to join us in a newly created role that will play a central part in shaping how our finance systems support the firm now and in the future.
As product owner for our Practice Management System (currently Aderant) and wider finance systems estate, you'll be responsible for ensuring our systems are reliable, efficient and fit for purpose. You'll lead system improvements, technology upgrades and automation initiatives that improve the way we work, enhance the user experience and support the firm's strategic priorities.
This is a highly visible role, working closely with senior stakeholders, including our CFO and CIO, and colleagues across Finance, IT, Risk and Legal Operations, as well as external partners. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, ensuring our finance systems continue to evolve in line with the needs of the business.
If you're passionate about technology, process improvement and delivering practical solutions that make a real difference, we'd like to hear from you.
As Finance Systems Manager, you'll:
- Own and develop the firm's Practice Management System (currently Aderant) and wider finance systems, ensuring they remain reliable, secure and fit for purpose.
- Deliver the finance systems roadmap, working closely with the CFO, CIO and key stakeholders to align technology improvements with business priorities.
- Lead system enhancements, upgrades, integrations and automation initiatives that improve efficiency, data quality and the user experience.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of finance systems, providing leadership and support to the Finance Systems Analysts and acting as the escalation point for complex issues.
- Work across Finance, IT, Risk and Legal Operations to ensure successful delivery, adoption and ongoing optimisation of finance systems.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual activity and make better use of technology.
- Ensure strong governance, data integrity, security controls and compliance with change management and audit requirements.
- Monitor system performance, report on key trends and risks, and recommend improvements that support the firm's long-term objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
