Wood has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Systems Manager to join the Group Finance Function on a permanent basis. The role will report to the Head of Financial Systems and Data Governance and will be the gatekeeper of the Group consolidation system.

This role is open to candidates based in Aberdeen, with hybrid working arrangements available.

The Role

This role owns the metadata and master data structures, the integrations to source systems, the consolidation logic and the security model, and is accountable for the integrity of the data flowing through the system into Group reporting. Working with Finance, the commercial business and IT, the role maintains a platform that collects data accurately first time, applies changes consistently, and delivers one version of the truth. It leads a small systems team and is a principal contact for the OneStream implementation through build, go-live and into business as usual.

Acting as the subject matter expert, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, governance and control environment of the platform, making key decisions on system configuration, master data, security, validation controls and reporting structures. You will also collaborate with external implementation partners and software vendors to support system enhancements and ongoing performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owning the integration to source data, including configuration and consistency of mapping, driving improved efficiency in data collection and a right-first-time approach
  • Understanding, designing and optimising consolidation system logic for accuracy and efficiency in the Group role, and ensuring adequate validation controls and procedures are in place
  • Ensuring standardisation and consistency of data collection across all the business
  • Owning and controlling system security set-up and its ongoing maintenance
  • Implementing augmented system governance and control processes ready for go-live, consulting stakeholders on required blackout periods and process interdependencies
  • Owning the core Group, Region and business report inventory (cube views), ensuring changes and updates are applied consistently, and delivery is standardised to give one version of the truth
  • Maintaining a focus on the challenges faced by system users, finding solutions that make accurate and efficient data collection the priority, and sharing knowledge to upskill others
  • Leading, developing and managing the performance of the Systems Coordinator and the Systems Accountant
  • Working with Group to develop and maintain system alignment to the ultimate Group consolidation, maximising automated integration to reduce workload
  • Maintaining business continuity, system documentation and contingency procedures for the Group consolidation system, including backup, recovery and alternative processing arrangements
  • Coordinating system testing, release management and user acceptance testing for new functionality, upgrades, patches and process improvements, ensuring changes are implemented in a controlled manner

Expected:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • OneStream administration experience
  • Experience gained in a plc or a large, complex organisation with multiple entities and reporting structures
  • Experience designing or architecting data models and global master data
  • Experience taking the lead on a workstream or leading a small team
  • Experience applying technical accounting and reporting requirements within financial consolidation and reporting systems
  • Strong Excel and modelling skills

Desirable:

  • Experience of a full system implementation from design through to go-live
  • Power BI development and SQL data warehouse experience
  • Experience of Oracle FCCS or another EPM platform
