Finance Systems Support Assistant - Finance System, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (with potential for permanent position)

Salary: £38,173 per annum
Location: Home Based, commutable to Birmingham

This is a Temporary, Full Time vacancy

The vacancy

Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)
Location: Home Based with a requirement to attend team meetings at our head office in Birmingham as required, therefore you must live within a commutable distance.

The role

Are you ready to play a key role at Housing 21 in supporting the effective operation of our finance systems and delivering accurate, timely reporting?

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused professional to help maintain finance data, processes and system functionality, while providing a high-quality service to finance users.

Working closely with the Systems Accountant and subject matter experts, you’ll help ensure our finance systems operate effectively and that key tasks are delivered accurately and on time.

You will have previous experience of finance system support and partnering stakeholders, dealing with enquiries effectively and efficiently.

While the role is home based the successful candidate will be required to attend team meetings at our head office in Birmingham as required, therefore you must live within a commutable distance.

What we’re looking for

The essential requirements for the role include:

  • Experience in system upgrades, new system rollouts, and integrations with other business applications
  • A critical thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of identifying and resolving system and data issues efficiently
  • Ability to translate complex system concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical users, bridging the gap between finance and IT teams
  • Experience working with integrated financial systems with multiple interfaces, managing data flow between feeder systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Supporting system transitions, managing expectations, and ensuring smooth adoption of new finance technologies
  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent, including Mathematics and English
  • Accounting Qualification – Foundation level of accounting processes and accounting theory
