Role Description
The Finance Trainee will support the finance team with day-to-day accounting and financial tasks 6 hours a day - 5 days a week. This is an entry-level role based in Oakdale, near Blackwood, with daily activities including processing of all customer sales invoices, following up all customer payments to ensure they are paid within the approved credit period, assisting the logistics team to rectify delivery issues and credit notes, assisting with accounts payable process when necessary, preparing basic spreadsheets and financial schedules, assisting with month-end accounting procedures, assisting with payroll administration, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role also involves communicating with internal stakeholders to clarify financial data, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and learning best practices in finance and accounting.

We see this as an initial entry-level role where the individual may have studied maths or accounting in the school curriculum or worked at a basic finance role in their last role and is looking to take on a professional basic accountancy qualification like CAT or AAT.
Candidates should possess effective communication skills to present financial information clearly and collaborate with colleagues across the business.
Additional beneficial qualifications include proficiency with spreadsheets and finance software, strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
