Finance Transformation Director

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Location: London, Hybrid

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Role Purpose

Lead the transition from a major, multi-year global Finance Transformation programme into Business-as-Usual (BAU) Finance Transformation, building on the successful implementation of Oracle Fusion ERP and EPM and the establishment of a global Finance Target Operating Model.

The role will be responsible for ensuring the new finance technology, processes and operating model are fully embedded and optimised, including the effective use of the Mumbai offshore delivery centre, while establishing a sustainable roadmap for continuous improvement, automation, standardisation and efficiency across the global Finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transition from the global Oracle Finance Transformation programme into BAU, ensuring new systems, processes, controls, and ways of working are fully embedded across the organisation and that transformation benefits are sustained
  • Establish and own the ongoing Finance Transformation roadmap, identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, automate, and improve finance processes and technology and ways of working
  • Act as the strategic owner of the Finance transformation agenda, ensuring continued alignment between Finance, Technology, Operations, and wider business priorities
  • Maximise the value and adoption of the Oracle Fusion ERP and EPM platform, identifying opportunities to improve functionality, automation, reporting, data quality, and user experience
  • Oversee the ongoing optimisation and re-engineering of finance processes across AP, AR, Payments, Reconciliations, GL, Consolidation and FP&A, using process insight and continuous improvement methodologies to remove inefficiency, duplication, and unnecessary complexity
  • Ensure the global Chart of Accounts and master data model remain effective, governed and fit for future business requirements
  • Maintain and evolve the Finance Target Operating Model and Shared Services structure, identifying further opportunities to optimise the location, cost, capability, and effectiveness of finance activities
  • Build a strong partnership with the GCC Finance delivery centre, ensuring effective collaboration, capability development, performance and continuous improvement, and identifying further opportunities to leverage offshore capability
  • Spend meaningful time with the GCC team where required to build relationships, understand the operation and support delivery of the Finance transformation agenda
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, using data, technology, and process insight to identify and deliver measurable improvements across the Finance function
  • Own the ongoing Finance systems and transformation portfolio, prioritising initiatives based on business value, benefits, risk, cost, capacity and strategic alignment, and ensuring resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities
  • Lead the development and delivery of further automation and digital transformation, including opportunities across Oracle, BlackLine, EPM, and other finance technologies
  • Ensure appropriate governance, controls and risk management are maintained as finance processes and technology continue to evolve
  • Lead cross-functional transformation projects from discovery and business case through to implementation, adoption, and benefits realisation
  • Own the realisation of the transformation business case, establishing clear measures, targets, and accountability for financial, operational, productivity and service improvements
  • Establish robust mechanisms for tracking and delivering financial, operational and productivity benefits, building on the original transformation business case
  • Continue to identify opportunities for workforce optimisation, process efficiency, and cost reduction, including further opportunities to leverage shared services and offshore capability
  • Ensure effective stakeholder engagement, communications, change management and adoption for ongoing transformation initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technology and implementation partners, ensuring appropriate service, support, and continuous improvement from strategic platforms
  • Establish a sustainable BAU governance model for prioritising enhancements, managing change and ensuring the Finance technology landscape remains fit for purpose
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Finance Transformation capability, ensuring the function has the skills and expertise required to support ongoing transformation and continuous improvement

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
