Finance Transformation Lead

Location: Leeds (however, remote working may be considered if needed, provided the candidate can travel to Leeds regularly with travel expenses included within their day rate)

Duration: 4 weeks full-time + 6 months x1 day per month

Target Start Date: early November

Role purpose

We are seeking an experienced Finance Transformation professional to advise the Chief Financial Officer of a Financial Services organisation on their transformation roadmap. The successful candidate will combine strong finance transformation expertise with hands-on experience and insights on what other finance functions of financial services organisations are doing across the below service lines:

  • Procurement & Supplier Management
  • Cash & Payment Operations
  • Reporting & Control
  • Financial Insight & Planning
  • Treasury & balance Sheet Management
  • Credit Analytics

You will work with senior Finance Management, CFO as well as Technology and business stakeholders to design and implement more efficient, controlled and insight-led finance functions.

Key responsibilities

  • Review Finance Transformation roadmaps
  • Share insights from hands-on experience on what other financial services organisations are doing to achieve similar objectives, lessons learned and pre-empt potential issues based on previous experience
  • Act as a critical friend to senior stakeholders, opening issues before they arise and tackling difficult conversations with sensitivity and empathy
  • Contribute to workshops with industry perspectives

Experience and qualifications

Essential:

  • Significant experience delivering Finance Transformation programmes within Financial Services.
  • Experience working with banks, insurers, building societies, asset managers, payments firms or other regulated financial institutions.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, operating models, controls, reporting and data.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-workstream transformation programmes.
  • Experience working across Finance, Risk, Operations, Technology and business functions.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and control environments within Financial Services.
  • Experience with finance systems, reporting tools, data platforms or process automation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and delivery capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Experience with ERP, EPM or reporting platforms such as Databricks, Jade, Helix, SAP, Oracle, Workday, Anaplan, OneStream, Power BI or Tableau.
  • Consulting, advisory or experience leading enterprise-wide change programmes.
