Interim Finance & Transformation Lead (12-Month FTC)

Salary: £63,000-£68,000

Location: Hybrid (London - approximately one day per week in the office)

Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract

The Opportunity

A well-established international charity is seeking an experienced Interim Finance & Transformation Lead to oversee financial control, statutory reporting and finance transformation during an exciting period of organisational change.

This is a senior leadership role combining hands-on financial accounting with the opportunity to drive process improvements, strengthen controls and lead a programme of finance transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead statutory accounts preparation, external audit and month-end/year-end reporting.
  • Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring compliance and strong governance.
  • Oversee balance sheet management, treasury, tax, fund accounting and reconciliations.
  • Lead, develop and support the financial accounting team.
  • Deliver finance transformation projects, including improvements to systems, processes and reporting.
  • Provide financial insight and technical advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement across the finance function.

About You

You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with:

  • Significant post-qualified experience in financial accounting and financial control.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and charity accounting (SORP desirable).
  • Experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • A proven track record of leading finance transformation or process improvement projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
