Finance Transformation Subject Matter Expert | Manchester | Hybrid | 2 year FTC | Up to £80,000

We're partnering with a major organisation embarking on a significant SAP S/4HANA transformation programme to find a Finance Transformation Subject Matter Expert.

This is not a traditional finance role.

We're looking for someone who understands how a finance function operates, knows what good looks like and enjoys challenging existing processes to create something better. You'll play a key role in shaping the future finance function, acting as the bridge between Finance, Technology and the wider transformation team.

If you enjoy solving problems, improving processes and influencing change rather than simply reporting the numbers, this could be a brilliant opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as the Finance SME within the Accounting & Finance Management workstream, providing finance expertise throughout the SAP S/4HANA programme.
  • Working with Finance, IT and implementation partners to gather, challenge and translate business requirements into practical solutions.
  • Reviewing and improving core finance processes, including month-end close, management reporting and financial planning activities.
  • Supporting the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA finance processes, ensuring solutions are scalable, efficient and aligned to business needs.
  • Playing a key role in testing, data migration and business readiness activities to ensure a successful go-live and adoption of new ways of working.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
