Interim Financial Accountant
Contract: 4-6 week interim role
Location: 3 days in the office, London
Start Date: ASAP
Day Rate: £400 per day
A private equity-backed financial services business with revenues of approximately £20m is seeking a short-term Interim Financial Accountant to provide immediate support to the finance function during a busy operational period.
This is a hands-on assignment focused primarily on the accurate processing and uploading of supplier invoices into Xero, whilst supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc reporting and finance administration activities. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, have strong attention to detail and be able to add value from day one with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Upload and process supplier invoices within Xero, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Review invoices received from suppliers and validate supporting documentation before processing.
- Support the maintenance of accurate accounts payable records and audit trails.
- Assist with invoice coding and allocation to the correct cost centres and nominal accounts.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and data issues as required.
To Be Successful
- Previous experience working as a Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant or similar finance professional.
- Demonstrable experience using Xero is essential.
- Proven track record of uploading and processing invoices within Xero.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Confident working with large volumes of financial data.
- Comfortable supporting ad hoc reporting and finance projects.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Available immediately or at short notice.
