Financial Accountant
An established technology business based in Waterbeach is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a broad financial accounting role, working closely with the Finance Manager and colleagues across the wider business to deliver accurate financial information and support key reporting requirements.
Your Duties
- Managing stock accounting, inventory reporting and stock turnover analysis, including supporting stock count verification.
- Maintaining the R&D and fixed asset registers, including capitalisation, amortisation and appropriate accounting treatment.
- Preparing monthly accruals and prepayments, journals, balance sheet reconciliations and revenue and gross margin analysis.
- Supporting the preparation of UK statutory accounts, audit requirements and tax computations, while liaising with overseas accountants and external advisors.
- Supporting R&D accounting activities, alongside other financial reporting and improvement projects.

The Ideal Candidate
- A recognised accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Experience working to tight financial reporting deadlines, with strong attention to detail and a questioning approach to financial information.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across Finance and other departments.
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset, with a genuine interest in developing their accounting knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement.
